Line length too long to view
Since the recent rehash if I. E., now when I get an email with longs lines of text they will not fit on the visible screen necessitating scrolling the page back and forth. Can the side columns showing information that I don't want be deleted so the entire lines of text are visible. Dave.

What do you mean by "the recent rehash if I. E."?
Best wishes,

I'm guessing it translates to "the recent update of IE to v10". Can't help with the problem though.HansV wrote:What do you mean by "the recent rehash if I. E."?

I thought Dave was using Windows XP. As far as I know, IE10 is not available for Windows XP, just like IE9.

I suspect that Dave has recently been upgraded from Hotmail to Outlook.com, but I'd like to know if that's the problem, or something else.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Line length too long to view
Apologies guys, no wonder you can't decipher my post I should have said Outlook Express not IE. Would have responded earlier but have been away for an Easter break. The attachment in my original post shows the issue, I got an information email to say OE had been redesigned and it is the new format that has reduced the length of text lines which means the entire line cannot be read without scrolling back and forth. Just wondered if the two side columns could be deleted as they contain information that is not important. Dave.

Re: Line length too long to view
Do you get the problem in ALL emails?
Normally, with HTML-formatted emails I would expect the text to word-wrap appropriately unless there is a graphic inserted in the email which is forcing a minimum line length (width).
If you scroll (up and down) the entire length of the email, is there any graphic that does not fit in between your left and right columns and which may be causing this?

I don't think it'll solve your problem, but you can remove the right-hand sidebar:
Click the gear icon to the left of your username:
Select 'More Mail Settings' from the dropdown menu.
Under 'Reading email', click 'Content from third-party networks':
Select the option 'Don't show content from third-party networks', then click Save.
You can now go back to your Inbox.

Re: Line length too long to view
Thank you Hans......followed those instructions but the column to the right is still remains. Seems the root of the minor issue concerns emails that contain a graphic and the solution is to hold the Ctrl key whilst rotating the scroll wheel on the mouse till the entire text line is visible. Regards Dave.
