First, because I hate to read the manual and only will do so as a last resort.
Second, because I've been known to throw away a variety of "important" paperwork.
One memorable item, while we were still in the dairy business, was our check from the sale of a "bulk tank" of grade A milk! Lucky for me, after digging through a mound of rubbish, I found it back again AND it was in good enough shape to deposit!

Me too. I figure that for every "product" I need to purchase, at least three stores/chains sell it.wasbit wrote:I fight off all comers until such time as I get the manual in my grubby mits.
So I'm really choosing the store/service, not the product.
A good test is to ask to read the documentation BEFORE handing over cash.
A good store understands that I am seriously contemplating the purchase and want to check that the product will truly satisfy my needs.
A bad store is just interested in swapping a shrink-wrapped bubble for my hard-earned cash.
