Here's information about the six species of flamingo at Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetland Trust, just off the River Severn!

If by that you mean the picture is a bit rough and grainy, that's because it is
I don't have my photo editing software on this travelling device so this version is just the JPEG that the camera creates. Once I get home I should be able to reprocess the data and get something a bit better. It will never be great though, the crop you need to be able to zoom in is so great there just isn't a lot of data to work with. like this.

They like hanging around in the area because they get fed, but they certainly aren't tame!stuck wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 19:23but those flamingos aren't truly wild, or are they?John Gray wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 09:12Here's information about the six species of flamingo at Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetland Trust, just off the River Severn!
How about "fairly wild"?

Sorry, Ken, and all outside the US for this reference to an American eye drops product that promises to 'get the red out.'stuck wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 18:54If by that you mean the picture is a bit rough and grainy, that's because it is

<pedant> The bright pink color of flamingos comes from beta-carotene, a red-orange pigment that’s found in high amounts within the algae, brine fly larvae, and brine shrimp that flamingos eat in their wetland environment. </pedant>

Not one of these birds is a flamingo, and by an amazing coincidence, not one of them is named "Blue"
Cheers, Chris

From that photo one might surmise that the old saw "Birds of a feather flock together" is not true. I see some outliers in there.
