Just wondering if anyone knows an easy way to apply an application icon.
I'm sure there are colour intensity or pixel restrictions. I've created an Xp icon and keep getting "Invalid Picture or Icon "
Regards

Re: VB6 Application Icon
Yes, saved as an icon, more so because my icon editor removes the background of the image so it looks authentic on the desktop.

Re: VB6 Application Icon
What size (px x px) is the icon you have created?
Not very exciting, but does the attached work? (Rename to give it an .ico extension)

( Sorry I've only just replied, I had other projects to complete first )

Opening the .ico file in the browser, right-clicking the icon and selecting Properties results in
So it's 48 by 48 pixels.

Re: VB6 Application Icon
If I may be so bold as to show off my ignorance...
I created the icon using Axialis Software - Home of IconWorkshop, and can highly recommend it. (It's not free, mind.)
According to the workspace, it appears to be 4 sizes ( 16x16, 32x32, 48x48 and 256x256) and 3 resolutions (16, 256 and RGB): I usually create my icons like this as the one file then has a range of uses, from application icon to desktop icon. This probably explains its size - quite big for a 'simple' 48x48 graphic - but as to why it should be reported as 48 x 48, I'm not sure. If I open it with Firefox, Firefox tells me it's 16 x 16....
I'm happy to run a graphic through Axialis for you if it helps...

Re: VB6 Application Icon
Hi Leif, that would be great if you wouldn't mind.
I have two image files, 1 x JPG (30.7kb) or 1 x BMP(735kb). How shall I send them to you ?
