Google hates my browser.
Now Google complains that the Vivaldi browser might be insecure. "Try Again" is futile.
I am using Vivaldi, of which I have a vague understanding that it is based on Chrome or Firefox or some other popular browser.
Is this just another scam by Google to make me use Chrome?
FWIW I loaded Chrome, signed into my GMail account, and was able to post comments in YouTube.
I am no longer allowed to do that with Vivaldi.
Actually: I had hoped that my sign-in via Chrome would stick in the computer and fool Google into seeing that I was already signed in to YouTube, but that didn't work. Vivaldi still meets a locked door.
Thanks for any clues
Chris

Re: Google hates my browser.
In Vivaldi, select I Quatro Stagioni Settings -> Privacy -> Google extensions.
If some are unchecked, try checking them - some suggestions say that checking Crypto Token should be enough.
(I don't use Vivaldi myself so cannot test)

Re: Google hates my browser.
Thanks Hans. Where else can you get tips on formatting hours, commenting on YouTube, and pick up a bit of stray Italian all in one day?
I tried Crypto Token first, and that didn't work.
So then I tried Hangouts and Web Store, and that had no effect either.
Then I , the bit of fine print that recommended that I re-load the browser ... and now it works.
It's just that I don't know which switch did the trick.
So aren't you glad that I am here to help you out(I don't use Vivaldi myself so cannot test)
Thanks again.
Chris

I knew it was built on something but had forgotten what.jonwallace wrote: ↑22 Mar 2022, 23:27Oh, and Vivaldi is built on Chromium with some Googley bits removed. Some info
Vivaldi is heavily customized, no doubt about it, and i am often confused when faced with its plethora of switches. (They probably have a switch that would allow me to use "myriad" instead of "plethora" when using the browser to write about the browser ...).
I can't complain.
Like many programmers i use symbolic names rather than literals in my VBA code.
But then I deicde to store the run-time values in an INI file rather than in a Public Const inside the program call.
This leads to densely populated GUI forms for options ...
Cheers
