an attempt at a cure for an ear worm
I've mentioned before that I am a big fan of the music of Genesis and last Thursday evening, I was finally able to see them perform on their much COVID delayed reunion/final tour.
By fiddling with and uploading a photo of ripples I'm hoping the Genesis song of the same name will stop playing in my head. Not sure why it is playing in my head mind you as it (sadly) wasn't one they performed on Thursday.

Won't you hear the song each time you see this photo?
(Lovely photo by the way)

I assume Phil Collins sat on a chair throughout the entire performance, as he did in a Sky Arts documentary about them a couple of weeks ago?
What was the proportion of "early" Genesis music to "late" Genesis? A mixture?

I remember mentioning to a friend maaany years ago I had tickets for Genysis and was going to see them. He replied rather acerbically.. oh.. you mean the Phil Collins roadshow.
It was a great concert and I enjoyed it immensely.

Your friend was definitely acerbic - and woahfully* inaccurate!
A singer is but one component of a band, and there are several other very talented musicians with Mr Collins!
* as in "a bit hoarse"...!

Yes, and his voice was not great at times but the music, lights and video back drops were brilliant.
The mix was good, the set list is here:

The video backdrop for Land of Confusion featured empty London in lockdown streets with animated men wearing masks and bowler hats marching along, then hundreds of animated toilet rolls fell from the sky - that got a laugh.

Rain - that's what one visits the Lake District for, isn't it?

Absolutely, and without it there wouldn't be many lakes in the Lake District

Like Collins as a singer but he's awesome on the drums.
I enjoy watching him on the live version of Money For Nothing when Dire Straits has Collins, Sting and Clapton all on stage performing.
And if that doesn't bring a smile to your face, well .........

Yes, that's what I heard, too.
Like the time I took my dear angel to see one of her favorite country singers, Don WIlliams. The curtains opened with Don seated, and that's where he stayed until the curtains closed at the end the concert.
On the brighter side, their memories they made and shared with us will last a VERY long time.

At least that's excusable.PJ_in_FL wrote: ↑07 Oct 2021, 17:33Yes, that's what I heard, too.

In the 70s I went to a big outdoor concert featuring the Beach Boys. They were off their faces. They couldn't harmonise, and couldn't remember the words to Little Deuce Coupe.
