Just curious if I am doing something wrong or if Word is the culprit.
When I create a new Word document I insert a blank Footer. Then use Quick Parts, insert a Field, and then choose Filename. When I save the file it always has Document1 as the Filename. I have to go back after saving the file, delete the Filename, and reinsert the Filename field to get the Footer to show the correct Filename.
Is this something that is inherently wrong in Word or my steps I use to create the Footer wrong? If so, what do I do to correct this?

Re: Word Headers and Footers
The FileName field is not updated automatically when you save or open the document. It will be updated when you print or print preview the document.
So select File > Print. You'll see the correct filename.
So select File > Print. You'll see the correct filename.
Best wishes,

Amazing that it works that way but it did. Just wanted to let you know, maybe you already do, I still did not get an email notification for your reply. Thanks for the help.
