Thunderbird Reply/Compose in New Tab
Thunderbird 68.11.0 (32 bit) Win10-2004
I swear that until about a fortnight ago, when I Replied to an email from the InBox, a new tab was opened.
Now a new window is opened.
I read a few threads, none of which suggested a change in Thunderbird was liable, so perhaps my mind is going (again/still).
The Question: Are you now, or were you once, able to compose a Reply, or even just Compose a new email, on a tab within the main window of Thunderbird?
In posting this I note that I am running a 32-bit version; perhaps I had a 64-bit version on the old laptop (i.e. until two weeks ago).
Thanks
Chris

Re: Thunderbird Reply/Compose in New Tab
I've used Thunderbird for years on several different PCs, and I don't remember ever replying in a tab, I always get a window. (This is dead annoying if I compose a message then forget to send it and find the window hiding down the back when I close Thunderbird)(No, it's only happened a couple of times...)

Hello Jon, and thank you for this confirmation that my mind is going (grin!).jonwallace wrote: ↑13 Aug 2020, 22:56I've used Thunderbird for years on several different PCs, and I don't remember ever replying in a tab, I always get a window. Perhaps I had accidentally invoked some weird Win10 feature by accident.
There again, perhaps I was replying NOT to an email in Thunderbird, but to a PM or posting ion a web-based forum (such as Eileen's Lounge)
Cheers
