I have a report - PersonalDetails - which has to be capable of being run as a free standing report; it is also used as a sub-report in another report, ContractDetails.
If PersonalDetails is run by itself, its layout is fine i.e. the margins I have set using page setup are obeyed.
When it is run it as part of the ContractDetails report, i.e. PersonalDetails functions as a sub-report, data layout is also fine and the margins are as originally set up.
If PersonalDetails is then again run as a free standing report, all the margins have been amended and the data is not properly aligned on the page; however, having confirmed that the margins have been altered, if it is run again as part of the ContractDetails report, the page/data layout is still OK in that report.
I'm not understanding something.
Can someone enlighten me as to what is going on, please?
Thanks
Siverback

What a strange problem! Which version of Access are you using?

Re: Report as subreport gets margins altered
I don't have an explanation, but the "Track name AutoCorrect info" setting reputedly may cause reports to lose their margin settings, so it's worth to make sure that the check box of that name in the General tab of Tools | Options... is clear.
Otherwise I have no idea...

Unbelievably, clearing the option has fixed the problem!
Would you recommend that the DB should switch this option off on entry and back on on exit? And, if so, how can that be done, please?
Thanks
Silverback.

Er no, keep the option off at all times!
The setting is stored in the database, it's not an application-wide setting. The first thing I do in every new database that I create (and also in databases that Loungers attach) is to clear this check box, and I never turn it on again.
