Can someone recommend a good book or website that will tell me how to clean up and tune up my computer? I have read DUMMIES and enjoyed it. I am an old, retired old man with no computer experience.

More seriously though. Lots of us here use the version of a utillity called Ccleaner to tidy up our PCs:

In the first instance simply download it, install it, taking care to opt out of any offers for other software that might be included and then run it with the default settings.
The other freebie to download and run is Malwarebytes:
https://www.malwarebytes.org/downloads/
This will compliment what ever anti-virus application you are using.

There areso many good articles on the web to assist you to get this job done.
I live by HowTo Geek...their articles are easy to follow, well documented and full of screenshots.
