As the world mourns (or not) the end of the road for Windows XP, Microsoft Netherlands has posted this nine-minute film on its YouTube channel all about XP’s famous default wallpaper.

The backstory is told by Charles O’Rear, the photographer who snapped the iconic picture, aptly titled “Bliss,” in 1996 along a California highway north of San Francisco. Thanks Charles...that was a great shot!

If your absence does not affect them, your presence didn't matter.
I remember Tinky Winky and Laalaa, but can't remember the other two. I also remember walking through a store when they first started showing the TT in the US, and being mesmerized by them. It was really weird. Then being the psychologist that I am, I stood off to one side and watched people as they walked by the TV section--almost everyone stopped and just stared blankly at the screens for a few moments.
