Short game: Polar Escape
Escape-the-room games have become quite popular; we've had a link to at least one of them in the past, either here or in Woody's Lounge.
Unfortunately, the clues in many of them are rather abstruse and illogical (in my opinion), and they frequently require endless pixel-hunting.
Polar Escape is a pleasant take on the genre - the puzzles are mostly logical (within the framework of the game - in real life you wouldn't carry a ladder with you all the time), and the mouse pointer clearly indicates when you can interact with something. It shouldn't take very long to solve it, but if you get really stuck, a walkthrough is available. (Try to avoid using it though)

It is, but search for what it takes to make the radio work again...

Re: Short game: Polar Escape
I had batteries, but i'm sure that was for the torch. I was looking for the hose to fill the generator with gas to get power so I could put on the TV. I want to see what was on the cassette. There must me more clues on it!
Edit: Oh, and I did find the aerial if that is what make it work. I just didn't connect it at the time.

The aerial is one of the parts you need for the radio.
The hose is not far from the generator...

I'm stuck trying to melt the frozen manhole cover. Ah, I forgot to actually light the fire-torch!

I edited my previous post, but a bit too late, I hadn't realised that the fire-torch wasn't actually lit!

What's the code. Is that a set sequence of clicks?

Re: Short game: Polar Escape
No...not a set sequence but a logical process does apply. Most (if not all) tasks must be completed in order to escape the room. IOW: One must find the hose first before you can fill the generator with fuel...

Re: Short game: Polar Escape
I have put the hose in the large tank of fuel and the funnel into the generator but cannot seem to bring the cannister into play?

Re: Short game: Polar Escape
Actually I have not got to that point yet (I could not find the hose )BenCasey wrote:I have put the hose in the large tank of fuel and the funnel into the generator but cannot seem to bring the cannister into play?
I think you must activate the canister in the bar at the bottom, and then click on the large tank, or hose... The idea is to fill the canister to fill the generator..
Work is getting in the way of playing

Rudi

Spoiler
To make sense of the image on the TV screen, you need to get the radio working.
