Hi folks,
FIRST QUESTION OF 2 REGARDING SKYPE WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT BE RELATED..next question to follow this post
I am using Skype but have run up against a couple of issues I don't know how to tackle.
I am using:
- new HP G61-300CA laptop with Windows 7
- downloaded the most recent version of Skype
- a separate headset with microphone
I am told (by Chris Greaves....I know...that says it all, doesn't it! ) that when I am using my headset with mic and I type something, the tapping is annoying and excessively loud.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks
Michelle Romanica

To me it suggests that the laptop inbuilt microphone is active.Michelle wrote:... using my headset with mic and I type something, the tapping is annoying and excessively loud....
In Windows XP I would open up the Volume Control and try muting the microphone, but I have no idea how to do this in Win 7. P.S. I suspect that a second microphone is providing a faint feedback loop, hence the buzzing that is apparent during Skype calls.

Is there anything consistent about the two problems you experience? Like, say, the person you are contacting?Michelle wrote:I am told (by Chris Greaves....I know...that says it all, doesn't it! )...

That would seem to be the likely answer ....however.....that would give him too much attention and satisfaction. He'd be sitting on his couch with his 2 cats, and the cheshire cat smiles would be too much for any mortal to bear!!

(1) If it's only me, then Michelle has nothing to worry about butMichelle wrote:That would seem to be the likely answer ... however ...
(2) If it's with others, then she needs to get this cleared up before trying anything professional with her Skype (and/or email).
Michelle's best bet right now would seem to be to contact someone else with Skype and see if the other third party hears the buzzing.
P.S. I only raised the issue of 'buzzing" with her because she is the one who told me to start using Skype, and I always do whatever she tells me to do.

Don't be ridiculous, John.John Gray wrote:... anything consistent about the two problems you experience? Like, say, the person you are contacting?
When ever was I consistent?
