Prior to last "Patch Tuesday", I had an icon in my task bar that represented the clip board - it had several items in its menu- one was number of items on the clip board, and another was an option to clear the clip board. I found out that the clip board held 24 items and after that a copy command would not work until I cleared the clip board.
After last "Patch Tuesday" that icon disappeared and I cannot find it I am running XP with all fixes applied, I am running office 2003.
I was addressing a bunch of envelopes yesterday and the copy command again quit working. A reboot solved whatever problem occurred.
Does anyone know how to get this clip board icon with the "clear the clipboard" option back? I used all of the searches I could think of and couldn't recover it.
Thanks
Tom

Re: clip board
It's probably the clipboard icon from Office 2003.
- Start an Office application, for example Word 2003.
- Select Edit | Office Clipboard to display the Clipboard task pane in the application.
- Click Options on the Clipboard task pane.
- Make sure that "Show Office Clipboard Icon on Taskbar" is ticked.
Best wishes,

And if that doesn't get you where you want to be, you might give some thought to a third-party clipboard extender. I wouldn't be without one.

Re: clip board
To do this in Word 2007
Home, click the Arrow of the Clipboard area.
Then Options, and add "Collect without showing Office clipboard".
This will now show the Clipboard in the System Notifications area.
