This post has a table I pasted by using the Lounge's Word macro for creating a table in a post.
Please, is there a method for inhibiting the posted table from spreading across the entire screen?
In my Firefox 3.6.13 browser the table is way too wide for the text it contains, which makes it, I think, quite difficult to read.

This is not due to the macro but to the way table-related tags work. The implementation of these tags is rather primitive (I can say so because I created them). It's not easy to provide more flexibility, so I'm afraid you'll have to live with it.
Suggestion: make your browser window less wide, or use the Rainbow Pearl skin (it has a fixed-width column for the posts).

OK Hans
(sigh)
I can live with it ....
I was more concerned about others trying to read what I'd posted/pasted.
I wondered whether I'd missed out on something, some feature of the [ table ] tag I'd missed.
P.S. I think a link to your original post would be useful in the FAQ somewhere around "Formatting and Topic Types"

OH, OK, And I'm not disappointed(1).HansV wrote:Sorry to keep on disappointing you - the FAQ is a fixed help text provided by the developers of phpBB, our forum software.
I remembered the macro from an earlier incarnation, had trouble tracking it down, and thought to go to the FAQ.
"Tables" seems like a handy little tool to know about, and I suppose that there are a few other tricks of the trade buried away somewhere.

Not sure what the "viewing" problem is Chris because your table is nicely visible on my monitor without scrolling.
I have a 19" monitor.

Once again, where were you when I needed you?
Thanks for the heads-up.
I think I need to go to bed and start all over again.
A "heads-down", as it were.
Oh well, at least I was on the right track, looking for the answer; I just chose to look under the street-light ...
