what's the collective noun for Christmas trees?
These are just a few of the Christmas trees on display in cathedral we visited yesterday.

There were another three stands, on each of the other three sides of the cloisters, plus another one in the south transept and a couple of stand-alone trees at the back of the nave. Maybe it was more of a forest of Christmas trees?

Were there so many that you couldn't see the forest for the Christmas trees?
Best wishes,

Hi Ken, based on the evidence that you have presented, I'd naively suggest a nave of Christmas Trees, or even a chancel(1) of Christmas Trees.
I do recall a line in an old CofE prayer book that read "In quires and places where they sing, here followeth the anthem".
Based on my upbringing, however, I would have to go for a sandplain of Christmas trees.
(1) As in Johnny Mathis's hit "Chancels are, 'cos you're singing in a quire ..."
You're welcome! Chris

Yes, that is a line from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.ChrisGreaves wrote: ↑15 Dec 2023, 17:47...I do recall a line in an old CofE prayer book that read, "In quires and places where they sing, here followeth the anthem".

That spelling of quire reminded me.
"Id like to obtain a singing group".
"You mean a choir"
"Yes, you're right. I'd like to acquire a singing group".

How about a lot of Christmas trees?
Or a greenery thereof?

If a group of Christmas trees was chopped down, it would become a log table.
