When I open a PDF link in Chrome, a series of very large icons appear above and to the left and right of the PDF, taking up a significant amount of space on the screen. In Edge, these icons do not appear. See the screenshots below.
How can I get PDFs in Chrome to act like PDFs in Edge?

Re: Changing appearance of PDFs in Chrome
It looks like Chrome uses Adobe to display the PDF file.
Chrome can display PDFs natively - see if this helps:
- Navigate to Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Additional content settings > PDF documents.
- Select the option "Open PDF in Chrome".
If that doesn't make a difference, there may be a setting in Adobe to disable using Adobe to view PDFs in Chrome. (I have no details, I use neither Chrome nor Adobe)

Re: Changing appearance of PDFs in Chrome
My only options are Download PDFs and Open PDFs in Chrome. The latter was selected.
Search results in Google do not help me much. They deal mostly with how to prevent PDFs from opening in Chrome rather than in Adobe rather than how to prevent the Adobe layout from appearing in Chrome.

Is this what you are looking for?
Enable Adobe Acrobat extension for Google ChromeIf you enable the extension, the Acrobat PDF creation toolbar is added to the browser.

Re: Changing appearance of PDFs in Chrome
It seems the issue was created by having the Adobe extension turned on. I just turned off the Adobe extension and PDFs are now displaying as normal.
