Hi.. I give up. Can anyone give me a step by step or a good link to installing a DOCM file as an add in please.
I'm stuck because this is office 2016 64 bit. It came with a new laptop. Anyway.. the goal posts seem to have been moved.
Whatever I do the file seems to get saved on onedrive. Microsoft seems determined to make us use this. I don't want it!!
Regards and TIA
Lisa

Re: Word add in
An add-in should be a macro-enabled template, with extension .dotm
With a bit of luck, Word will automatically switch to your User Templates folder when you select Macro-Enabled Templates as file type in the Save As dialog. Otherwise, navigate to %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates

Re: Word add in
Once you've saved it as a .dotm file instead of a .docm file, you must save it in the %appdata%\Microsoft\Word\Startup folder (or any other folder that you've specified as your Startup folder in the File > Options > Advanced > File Locations dialog) to make it load when Word starts. Word won't load .docm files from that folder, only .dotm files.HansV wrote: ↑30 Jan 2023, 19:19An add-in should be a macro-enabled template, with extension .dotm
