Some of you ponder my perpetual harping on WHY I love Bonavista.
I woke from my afternoon nap yesterday to find two jars of beautiful home-bottled beets in a bag on my bridge.
Inside a card, from "Kim".
Now I met Kim from Walkhams Cafe in 2017.
I met Kim from the Bell in 2018.
And I met Kim from Cohens in 2019.
And I stop by and chat with each one of these delightful married ladies whenever opportunity presents itself.
My problem is this: WHICH KIM DROPPED OFF THE BAG OF BOTTLED BEETS?
This was never a problem in the 35 years I drifted around Toronto.
That is my Good News Story of this Christmas Season. A small story but one that will rest deep into my heart. Not the beets, but that I know three Kims each of whom is capable of dropping off a bag of beautifully bottled beets.
My challenge to you is to add to this thread JUST ONE example of how good this season has been to you. It can be as simple as a bag of bottled beets, or a reprieve from illness, or even just that this morning you woke up and were not dead.
One condition: Post it NOW! Do not wait to see if something better comes up. It will not, and the time will slip away from all of us.
Cheers and the hugest huggiest hugs that my arms can span!
Chris

That I woke up this morning and have no symptoms of any illness and it's 70°F - 22°C.

That I woke up this morning, and every morning, beside an angel, who loves me even though at times I can be the devil himself!

It's good to wake up, and give the person next to you a big kiss.

......... because I still have my right mind, whatever is left of it that is. I am still mobile. I have family that visits when possible. I have friends that keep in contact with me – virtually and in person! Food, clothing, shelter, good friends, loving family – yes! I am blessed indeed!
I hope that everyone of our group enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year of 2021 is a better year!

Re: Christmas this year was good because ...
If we adopt a pedantic position, which is not unknown in these parts it can be argued that Christmas runs until the eve of Candlemas, i.e. until the end of Mon. 1st Feb. Not sure if it still happens but a few years ago York Minster always had a Christmas tree until that date.Doc.AElstein wrote: ↑05 Jan 2021, 10:10_…… because its still Xmas, ( at the very least until 6 Jan here )...

Re: Christmas this year was good because ...
One of our neighbours follows ( followed ) some religious persuasion that keeps the Christmas lights on until about the time the clocks are reset for summer time. He has ( had ) some beautiful light arrangement in his back garden. ( It was the only beautiful thing that could be said about the miserable xxx. He passed away early this year, ( his Xmas lights were (are) still on this Xmas). That’s nice… )

Because our senior cat refuses to take his thyroid pill medicine ... a different challenge for the New Year because there are no alternative medications here in Norway and the radiation centre facility is closed pending long term relocation
