Re: a bit of wing
Yes, the zoom lens was at its longest focal length and then this is a fairly heavy crop. Off the top of my head I don't know what the effective focal length would be. One of my photo editors might tell me but I'm sitting on the sofa right now listening to Pink Floyd's 'Dark side of the Moon' and to go and boot the study PC, well, effort

Re: a bit of wing
My zoom has a max focal length of 250 mm, but the sensor is not a full 35 mm frame so in real money it's equivalent to a 400 mm lens. Add on the crop and it must be equivalent to at least 600 mm. Given that and the fact the lens is probably the cheapest Canon telephoto zoom, this picture isn't too bad.

Hi Stuart. I am grousing about people who are not plovers of proper music.
Which includes, of course works by the long-haired composers Vanellinae and Vanellinae.
A proactive example of proper music is the Blacksmith lapwing.
Cheers

PS I was sure I'd posted this picture before but I can't find it so that's someone's cue to provide a link to it elsewhere in The Lounge.
