Re: Good Judgement
I like it.
But should the spelling be judgement or judgment?
You be the judg.
(From a quick search, judgement is the predominant form in British English, except in a legal setting. Judgment is the predominant form in US English.

Re: Good Judgement
This quote is one of my favourites. My work involves a lot of data assessment. If you make decisions based solely on the statistics and don't consider other factors you can arrive at the wrong answer.
The classic case that illustrates this was when we published a report that gave the 'answer' as the value derived from the consensus of a large number of data points, only for us to have to withdraw that report when it came to light we'd missed something. The correct answer was in fact a value from only a small subset of the data. We had to re-issue an updated version of the report, that was embarrassing.

Two nations separated by a common language!
I wasn't aware of the US spelling but looks quite wrong from here!

Re: Good Judgement
Among the hits found when searching for "judgement" I saw the heading:
"Why do Americans spell words wrong?"
I am sure it could be argued that the only word which Americans spell 'wrong' is "wrong"...

Re: Good Judgement
As an American, it took me decades to get used to the spelling of "judgment." It's inconsistent. I know of no other words ending in "e", where the "e" is dropped when the "-ment" suffix is added. So I was delighted when I learned that the British spelled it "properly."
