I wish to cut and paste some instructions, which include several screen shots, from a web page into Word 2010.
The usual Ctrl-Ins to Copy to clipboard and Shift-Ins to Paste works fine for the text, but the screenshots just appear as equivalently-sized empty space in the Word document.
I don't want to do a screenshot of the entire webpage (which goes on for several 'screenfuls'), such as with the WIndows 7 Snipping Tool, because I want to edit the resulting document.
Any free ideas, please? Thanks!

Re: Cut and paste from web page into Word document
Does this happen on all sites? I tried a random one; screenshots were displayed correctly when I copied/pasted into Word:
(I used Google Chrome and Word 2010; it also worked with Firefox)
You could try the following as an alternative:
- Save the web page as a .htm file.
- Open the .htm file in word.
- Copy the part you want.
- Paste into your document.

Thanks, Hans - I did it originally in IE9 (don't ask!) and I've done it now in Chrome, and, yes, it works as it usually does and All is Well - thanks!

Perhaps IE9 is too old. It works OK in IE11.
Best wishes,

IE9? That's nothing, we still get customers wondering why they can't use our website properly and seem confused when I have to explain it's because they are still using IE 8jonwallace wrote:IE9 -- you lucky beggar...

IE8? Lucky you! We've got users locked into Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6 by their IT department...
Best wishes,
Hans

Sorry, I meant to imply that we're locked in to IE8 by our IT department (and the NHS reliance on badly written browser based "apps"). We got IE8 along with our Windows 7 upgrade in April...stuck wrote:IE9? John, in the same light as ScarJoy, try the free screen capture app called PicPick. When you activate the scrolling screen capture, you can press Escape anytime during the capture to exit further capture of unwanted detail. In the editor you can further edit the capture with crop and other options to fine tune the image.

I will inspect PicPick for usefulness. I've used Snagit before, and iot works very well, but it costs £toomuch.
