Bit of a strange thing happening (seen with both Word and Excel) where trying to open a file, opens the programme, but the file does not load.
We have tried disabling the hardware graphics and "ignore other applications that use DDE", but to no avail.
This happens regardless of how we try to open the files i.e. double clicking, from the open dialogue box and shortcuts.
Anybody know what causes this and/or what resolutions are available?
TIA
Files do not open

Re: Files do not open
A repair of the Office install should fix this?
Alternatively, try right click on the file > open with > browse to Excel.exe and tick the box for "always open with this program".

Cheers Rudi, not quite that problem.
The relevant programme will open/load, and show the file name in the title bar, but the programme window remains empty.

Are you sure that you do not have a empty file?
Does this happen with ANY file?
What happens if you were to type in some data in this blank file?

If the app opens up in full window view, drag the title bar down so it snaps into restored mode. Does something happen then?
I ask this weird question as I have seem this scenario a couple of times...
