This might sound foolish, but I never let that bother me before . . .
Can the BIOS/UEFI be accessed by any means other than pressing F2 (or some key) during start-up?
I have a 4 drive USB connected HDD housing that is self-powered. When the system goes into sleep mode, the device turns off and doesn't wake up when the system does. There is a statement in the doc that says the PC must support power-off in sleep mode which is controlled by the BIOS/UEFI. That implies to me that it might be possible to change the setting on the USB port to NOT turn the power to the device off when entering sleep mode.
I'd rather explore the UEIF settings before fiddling around and changing them.
Anyone?

Re: Accessing BIOS/UEFI
I don't see why you don't just access the BIOS settings anyways. Its easy enough to browse in and it provides a useful Exit without Saving option. (Unless I am missing the point of your question entirely )

Entering the BIOS is always accompanied by great trepidation for me. My hands tend to do things before my brain engages.
