Strange Spam message

Post by viking33 »

I was looking through the emails that my Spam filter trapped and noticed about 3-4 strange ones. I am wondering if anyone else has spotted these things?

It had no subject title, no name in the sent block and was dated December 31, 1969, 7 PM. All were identical and were zero in size?

I checked them out individually with Malwarebytes and my Virus checker and they tested clean.

Any ideas?

Further investigation by Googling that date turned up numerous hits.
Most seem to mention the occurrence on their iphones ( which I don't have ) and it is mentioned on Macs and with other ISPs and other email clients, etc. Some say it's a Unix glitch. No common denominator at all.

If your absence does not affect them, your presence didn't matter.

Guess it's an anomaly in time-space, or a sign that spooks are present. Good luck, Bob.

I don't think it's spam, rather some glitch, error, in the mail system. As you say, it's related to UNIX, and it's an invalid timestamp. Perhaps could have chat with your ESP, e-mail service provider, for that account.

Some info that you may have seen, or already know.

A couple of years ago I got spam on one address from the spring of 2017.
I'm in no hurry answering.

Argus,
My ESP is also Verizon and I really don't want to get in a discussion of this subject with their "techs." :groan:
I'll leave it as a curiosity that occurs only occasionally and does no harm. Hopefully!
