In PowerPoint 2013 I've tried deleting the Footer from all of the Slide Masters but it seems to persist. I can still see the date clearly!
Is this an issue that others have encountered? Andy

Re: Footer persists
Can I add one more? How do we turn off all the annoying animations? I mean, just when using PowerPoint and moving around grrrr..

Re: Footer persists
Activate the Insert tab of the ribbon.
Click Header & Footer.
Clear all check boxes, then click Apply to All.

Re: Footer persists
If the footer text box has been added manually on each slide, it will not delete simply by deleting the footer box on the master slides. In this case, you will need to delete the text box manually.
To disable animation (without deleting it), click on the Slide Show ribbon, select Set Up Slide Show and tick the box indicated in the graphic below...

Re: Footer persists
Thank you both.
@Hans This didn't resolve the H&F issue, and @Rudi they weren't added individually.
Thanks @Rudi, but I'm talking about the cursor wobbling , etc., in PowerPoint itself.

In that case, I have no idea how the date has been added. Could you attach a sample presentation without sensitive information?agibsonsw wrote:@Hans This didn't resolve the H&F issue, and @Rudi they weren't added individually.

Re: Footer persists
Cursor wobbling?
Would that not be Windows (Mouse) settings.
Change it to a non animated mouse pointer under Control Panel...Mouse Pointers?

But seriously, I don't understand what you mean. Could you explain, or provide an example?
Best wishes,

Re: Footer persists
The moment I start typing in PowerPoint (2010), the mouse pointer disappears, and it remains invisible until I move the mouse...

Re: Footer persists
I am not sure what you are referring to Andy?
If its not the blinking cursor when in edit mode in Excel, there is no movement on the Excel screen?
Please make a screenshot illustrating the item that is animated.

Re: Footer persists
Does this help? Office 2013: Disable transition and cursor animations.

Re: Footer persists
That sounds like it @Hans !! Thought I was losing it for a second
Windows settings, Animate controls and elements inside windows
But Office 2013 requires a reg-key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Graphics]
"DisableAnimations"=dword:00000001
I'll try it in a bit, TA.

I no longer have access to it.HansV wrote:In that case, I have no idea how the date has been added. Could you attach a sample presentation without sensitive information?
There a lot things that don't work as before, or aren't available at-all, in Office 2013 in my opinion. Given a choice, I think I would stick with 2010.
Thanks both.
