Not sure if I should have posted this here but I am using Windows Vista Home Basic OS.
I don't know what's happened but about two days ago I started getting the following message repeatedly appearing.
I have looked on the internet to see how to fix the problem but I am a bit wary of trying any of the suggestions I have read. Has anyone at Eileen's experienced this problem or can anyone offer sound advice? I would much appreciate it. Many thanks.

Re: winrnr.dll error message
I haven't seen this error myself, but you might try restoring the file from your Windows Vista installation DVD, if you have one - see How to extract missing system files from the DVD of Windows 7/Vista.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: winrnr.dll error message
Thanks Hans for your prompt reply. Unfortunately I do not have an installation CD/DVD.

Re: winrnr.dll error message
There is a number of "safe" options here like running an antivirus scan or running a scannow command, running system restore or updateing drivers... Its worth a try.
Try the options here.

Re: winrnr.dll error message
Running the system file checker is the most likely of the solution pointed to in Rudi's link, so I'll write out the steps here:
- Click the Start button.
- Type cmd.exe
- cmd.exe should be the first item in the list of search results.
- Right-click cmd.exe and select 'Run as Administrator' from the context menu.
- In the Command Prompt window, type the following line, then press Enter:
sfc /scannow
- Don't omit the space between sfc and /scannow.
- This will check all Windows files.
- When it's done, restart Windows (it may ask you to do so anyway).
- Click the Start button.

Thanks Hans. This is the result I got from the sfc /scannow option. No luck with solving the problem.HansV wrote:Running the system file checker is the most likely of the solution pointed to in Rudi's link, so I'll write out the steps here:

I get an 'access denied' message when trying to access the log file.
