We have a Seagate Free Agent 1.5TB that, I think, has physical problems. We are unable to access the drive using windows explorer and we receive messages like 'Need to format drive', incorrect parameters', CRC error. We have connected this to several computers with similar results.
Data recovery services are too expensive ($600+) to even consider since these files have sentimental value only.
Does anyone have any experience with, or knowledge of, this product?

My wife found it and I am skeptical.

Re: External Hard drive problem
I had never heard of it.
If the hard drive refuses to work with several computers, it's unlikely that it is caused by registry errors, which the article claims causes most of such problems. Moreover, there's one report on MyWOT that the utility came with a Trojan. So I'd be skeptical too.

Thanks Hans, that confirms what I was thinking.

Web of Trust is a website where you can check a site's reputation; it's based on the reports of users. They also have a browser add-on that shows the reputation in search engines etc.
Best wishes,
