Holmes and Watson stood baffled in a London cemetery, having found nothing in the grave just exhumed which they were sure would hold the answer. Pondering the situation, Holmes eyes wandered across the endless rows of gravestones. Suddenly he exclaimed,
"Watson! Bring the inspector over here and tell him to open this grave. The answer must lie in here."
"But how do you know Holmes? It's just a random grave of hundreds."
" The epitaph Watson, the epitaph! There can be no mistake."
The epitaph read:
"Sacred
To The Memory Of
William Ewart,
Born on the 4th Day of March, 1688
Died peacefully in his London home
Beloved, Respected, And Lamented
On The 9th Day Of September, 1752
Aged 64"
How did Holmes know to look there for "the answer"?

Re: Sherlock does it again
Spoiler
The Gregorian calendar was adopted in Great Britain in September 1752, by jumping straight from the 2nd of September to the 14th. So there never was a "9th Day of September, 1752" in London, hence the gravestone must be fake.
Best wishes,
Hans
