Word 2003
Going through the help files, I have been able to insert a checkbox into a Word document
containing a few lines. Each line has a checkbox.
What I cannot figure out, is how to allow a user to check the box or uncheck it.
I double clicked the box and cannot see how to make the checkbox 'active'.
Probably simple, but I just don't get it.
Thank you for your assistance as always !
Michael

Re: Inserting an active checkbox
Did you add a check box from the Forms toolbar or from the Control Toolbox?
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Inserting an active checkbox
Controls from the Forms toolbar only "work" if the document is protected for forms.
When you protect a document for forms, you can specify which sections are protected and which ones aren't.
In a protected section, only controls from the Forms toolbar can be used; ordinary text is locked.
In an unprotected section, users can edit and format text (with some limitations), and controls from the Forms toolbar cannot be used.'
If you want a check box that works in an unprotected document, use one from the Control Toolbox.
Warning: placing a control from the Control Toolbox in the document turns on Design Mode. Turn it off to use the control, turn it on to modify the properties of the control.

Re: Inserting an active checkbox
I couldn't get back here fast enough - I used the one from the control box and of course it worked fine.
I do thank you for taking the time to also explain the diference between the two.
You're awesome Hans !
