In composing an email in Thunderbird, is it possible to use a word as a hyperlink as is done by using the markup form, word?

When composing an email in TBird, highlight the word or words to act as a hyperlink then click Insert > Link (or press Ctrl+K). Enter the URL on the pop-up window.
