Hi
Is it possible to use/set option in Word so that when you press Enter it actually adds a soft return (newline)? I can't find it.
The reason I ask is that one of my user's document has soft returns instead of hard return as per normal documents.
Thanks.

Does Shift+Enter do what you want?

Re: Soft return when Enter pressed
As far as I know, there is no option to make Enter return a line break instead of a paragraph break.
One possibility is that the user pressed Shift+Enter, as suggested by John Gray.
Another is that the text has been copied from another source. Some web pages, for example, use line breaks instead of paragraph breaks to format the text. When you copy text from such a web page and paste it into Word, the line breaks will be preserved.
