background:
on Windows 7 - Outlook 2007
since this user has upgraded from Windows XP to windows 7 he cant 'Search emails' and 'Search all mail items'
The orginial problem was he couldnt 'Search emails' AND 'Search all mail items'
he clicked in the Search Inbox textbox, types his searches
the result was no search results returned even though the email items existed.
I applied this old chestnut of a fix
1.in Outlook click Tools, Options, Search Options...
2. The Search Options window displays
3. untick his MailBox, click OK
4. go back in and tick checkbox for his MailBox, click OK
5. the result: rebuild his index. when reindexing completed in the Inbox he could successfully search his items.
however in 'Search all mail items' still cant search .
the standard Outlook search setings are:
Instant Search Pane - Only the currently selected folder.
see screen capture.
any other suggestions?
many thanks
