I was doing a little work on some computers at the nursing home yesterday and came upon something I don't have enough IE knowledge to understand.
Ran IE on more than one machine and there is a horizontal message bar near the top that says IE is running without addons. To manage addons click here.
When I click and an addons window opens, they all are enabled, stuff like Shockwave Flash and others. Can anyone help me get rid of this message or learn how to ensure that IE runs WITH addons, please?

Re: IE Without Addons
There is usually a shortcut to "Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons)" in Start | (All) Programs | Accessories | System Tools. Its target is
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff
or on 64-bit Windows
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff
Could that have become the default shortcut for Internet Explorer?

Re: IE Without Addons
Hey, thanks Hans! I don't run IE very often and didn't know that parameter.
Headed that way shortly and will check it out. Thanks!

Re: IE Without Addons
That was the problem, Hans, and I appreciate the tip.
Can't for the life of me figure why MS makes that the "default" as it were, in the Accessories menu.
I've asked the Sysop over there if there's any reason she prefers it that way and if not, I've got some other machines to "repair" on my next visit. Thanks again!

Re: IE Without Addons
The "Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons)" shortcut is in the System Tools subfolder, it's intended for debugging purposes. The standard shortcut is usually in Start | (All) Programs.
My guess would be that someone made a mistake and copied the wrong shortcut.
