live mail freezes
Of late, I have encountered this -not serious - but irritating problem. When opening emails using livemail, for no apparent reason the cursor changes to a finger pointing hand which changes to a box with: "1 item" written in it which then acts as the cursor but I am not able to perform any actions like opening emails or any of the folders. The only way to restore normality is log off then back in again, any suggestions what might be causing this and how to rectify it please? Regards Dave.

You could install Windows Live Mail, part of Windows Live Essentials. In my experience, signing in directly to Hotmail can be a pain.

....never found a problem signing in, it's afterwards that -all of a sudden- the freezing takes place. Dave.

Re: live mail freezes
Is it really freezing or is a connection speed issue?
Sometimes while the program is "Checking" the response can be slow.

Re: live mail freezes
I had a similar experience last week and discovered it was a slow connection issue due to a LIve Essentials update downloading in the background

............don't think -though can't be sure- that it is a connectionn speed issue, running with Virgin media (fibre opics line) which is said to be the fastest in the land. Regards Dave.

Also remember that the LOGIN is on one server and the email may be on a different server. The connection speed if affected by both ends of the connections.
