Ad Blocker for IE 8
Can I get a recommended ad blocker for IExplorer please, similar to the one in Firefox.I've found several via google but not sure what is safe or not. I'm still prefering to use Internet Explorer but haven't upgraded to 9 yet, as waiting until its offered via the windows update to make sure the bugs are gone.

You could try AdBlock IE
Or use IE's built-in InPrivate browsing mode...

AdblockIE looks interesting thank you. I didn't realise InPrivate browsing filtered out ads and other things though so will investigate that some more. I suppose the easiest thing is to start using Firefox more often!

Re: Ad Blocker for IE 8
I know this thread is a few months old, but I just thought I'd comment that this morning I tried June Bug's suggestion ( Simple Adblock ) and it seems to do the job nicely.
I've mentioned in the past that I rarely use IE but the question came up this morning from a friend in NYC. While I was telling him about AdBlock Plus, it occurred to me that I'd never looked for something for IE. This one has freed a couple of pages I looked at from ads that have been quite annoying. Don't know yet if there are any "cons" involved with this one.

Re: Ad Blocker for IE 8
Thanks for reminder Big Al, so went to download and saw this little caveat:
Versions
•Free-blocks 200 adrequest per day (30-day trial with no limit)
•Pro-no adblock limit.
so is it a time limited "freeware"
