Opening the Startup menu

Post by DaveA »

To make changes to your "Menu" within the Start menu you need to the following.

To get to the All Users startup menu, Start > Right Click All Programs > Open All Users (this will take you to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu)

To get to your personal startup menu go to C: \Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Here you will see ALL folders of your personal start menu including Startup

Edit: Added new first line.
Thanks Charlotte

Charlotte,
Your method only allows the changes in how it will be displayed, not be able to add, delete or move entries.

I think all bets are off in Windows 7. I found I could only get to play with Startup entries by Taking ownership of the whole tree!
