Does anyone have a recommendation for any lightweight email client software?
I'm having problems with my ISP. They are naming my Thunderbird email client software for the issue which they don't support. (Go figure, eh.) I want to employ another client - preferably one that requires little setup and few resources - to see if the problem persists absent TB.

Re: Email Client Recommendations
Are you perhaps not asking the wrong question? If your ISP doesn't support TB then would your question not better phrased as, "From this list of email clients [insert relevant names here] that my ISP supports, which one would you recommend?"

Re: Email Client Recommendations
I documented my use of Mailbird for a short time here.
I am close to Stuck's thinking, but I would apply it to ISPs: Do you have an alternate ISP in your area, one that supports Thunderbird?

My ISP does not support any email client; ergo the phrasing of my question.

I have tried 4 ISPs that serve my area. My current one has been the most satisfactory until this problem erupted.ChrisGreaves wrote: ↑01 Jul 2023, 13:29I documented my use of Mailbird for a short time here.

Have you tried paying the ISP bills?I have tried 4 ISPs that serve my area. My current one has been the most satisfactory until this problem erupted.
Hi Bob; I feel your pain.
Each time I have a mail-meltdown I feel bad; I lose messages that I have read but to which I have not replied.
I lose contact lists.
I feel that in future I must reply to incoming mail instantly, rather than thinking about it for a day or two.
Looking back I see that my little episode with MailBird let me wade across the ford until the Thunderbird bridge could be rebuilt.
Cheers, Chris

Re: Email Client Recommendations
Many years ago I moved my email away from my ISP to a separate email service provider. This has been a great benefit as I can now easily change ISP whenever a better deal is available, and my email service provider does a great job because providing email is not just a small part of their offer.

Re: Email Client Recommendations
Thanks, Stuart. I'll look into using an independent email service provider.
