Oh no! You just know those two trees at the far edge of your vision are going to try to grab you, or they'll shuffle into the path once you've passed and you'll never find a way back!!

That's a very pleasing (and calming) composition.

Re: Early Autumn?
Agreed. I think that this image (of a path leading into the "unknown") is tied in with our Human Nature, or more correctly, our innate nature to be curious, to explore.
It may be an over-simplification to say that we, our brains, have evolved to be explorers, but we are surely descended from ancestors who were willing to push towards, and through, the frontiers.
I am speaking not of the "Wild West" as much as land-bridges, challenges of ice-ages and so on.
Cheers

Re: Early Autumn?
Pretty wet summer, you ask me. The puddles are still there!
We think of fall/autumn as the time when leaves change colour, but an arborist friend of mine pointed out to me, 25 years ago, that heat-stress or drought-stress, (and especially here) causes some trees leaves to change in the season of summer, and this was often evident as I drove around New York State's Southern Tier (Pennsylvania's Northern Tier) in July, when one or two trees on the side of a hill would have turned brilliant red or yellow amidst the bright green of the general population.
Cheers, and thanks,
Chris

Re: Early Autumn?
Thank you but I can't take any credit really. I used a feature in my photo editing software that allows you to select a range of hues and then shift them to a new hue. It only took a few clicks.
The camera may never lie but software sure does bend the truth

I agree with Stuart, Hans.

Re: Early Autumn?
In this case I used DxO PhotoLab 3 (NB current version is v4). PL is primarily a RAW file convertor but it includes various bells and whistles that alsoe work on JPEGs or TIFFs. I also have Affinity Photo, which is primarily a pixel editor (i.e. a Photoshop clone) and I expect the fame feature is in there - somewhere!
