I updated my remaining 4 computers to Windows 10 Version 20H2 and have a few observations I want to mention to see if there is any discussion on why I observed what I did.
I mentioned in a different thread that a Microsoft’s support technician kind of forced me to update one of my laptops to ver. 20H2. At that time Windows Update did not offer that update as an option so he downloaded and iso file to that computer and I installed it. It took a few hours to complete and when it did complete, it had changed an option, as it always has, in the advanced settings of the network Ethernet and WiFi to “Password protected sharing” to on. I need that to be off, so I had to turn it off once again.
Yesterday in updating the remaining 4 computers, none of them took over 6 or 7 minutes to completely update and none of the updates turned that “Password protected sharing” to on. I was able to update all 4 of these using Windows Update site.
So far, I have noticed 3 differences:
1. Updating using Windows Update and not having to use an ISO file.
2. Speed and time, it took to complete the update.
3. Update did not change the network advanced sharing options.
To keep my records current, I ran Belarc Adviser on all the computers and printed out the results. What I noticed while reading those results was it did not say I had version 20H2 installed. Instead, it said I had version 2009, and this was consistent for all the computers. I searched the NET and found that Version 20H2 is often referred to as version 2009. This is the 4th difference I noticed and am a bit curious as to why this would be the case, especially why have 2 version numbers.

Re: Updating Computers To Win 10 Ver. 20H2
An up-to-date version of Windows 10 version 2004 already has all changes to version 20H2 built-in, but disabled.
If you use Windows Update to install version 20H2, the changes only have to be enabled, so the process is very fast, and most settings should remain unchanged.
But if you install version 20H2 from an ISO file, you install the operating system from scratch, so it takes much longer, and it will overwrite many settings.

Interesting results from Belarc. You should also run Winver on the updated systems to see if Belarc is reporting the version as 2009 while Microsoft (Winver) is reporting it as 20H2.

I guess Belarc didn't update their application when Microsoft changed the name from 2009 to 20H2.

Much more amusing is going from v1803 to v20H2 on a slow laptop without a SSD.

Thanks Hans that explains what I saw happen.HansV wrote: ↑14 Dec 2020, 16:46An up-to-date version of Windows 10 version 2004 already has all changes to version 20H2 built-in, but disabled.

Re: Updating Computers To Win 10 Ver. 20H2
Actually I did that the first thing when I saw Belarc's results. Winver on all the machines reports version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.685) Belarc shows version 2009 but with the same (build 19042.685)

Re: Updating Computers To Win 10 Ver. 20H2
I was running version of 8.6 Belarc. I found a newer version - 9.0 but it still shows the exact same thing, Windows 10 Professional (x64) Version 2009 (build 19042.685). You will notice the build is the same as Winver reports but the name of the version is still different.

The most recent version of Belarc (9.7.0) was released on the 15th of October, 5 days before before Windows 10 20H2.

Re: Updating Computers To Win 10 Ver. 20H2
Thanks Hans. I didn't find it earlier but searching for it by the 9.7.0 found it. I installed it and it is still the same as before in that it still lists the version of Windows as 2009 and the build is still the same too.
