I would like to share with the community the latest news of the procedure to get rid of EDGE!
Here is the procedure I use. I put the command lines in a small text file.

I paste in the command box of the explorer the following line:

C: \ Windows \ SysWOW64 \ WindowsPowerShell \ v1.0
I open the corresponding directory where the PowerShell is located.
By right clicking on the executable program I can run it as an administrator.
In the PowerShell I paste the following line:

Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
A warning appears, I answer T (I use the French Windows version!) (see the screenshot)
In the PowerShell I paste the following line:

iex ((New-Object System.Net.WebClient).DownloadString('https://git.io/debloat'))

I choose the option "Remove all the Bloatware" ( see screenshot options.jpg)
Then, when I restart Windows, I am ready to work in 27 seconds! I am satisfied with this performance…
However I am intrigued by the window that opens (see screenshot EDGE.jpg)
Apparently it looks like an Edge window, and yet Edge must not be present since Microsoft offers to download it….
I would like to have the opinion of the community!

Under the Full Editor window, click on Attachments, then Add files:

x.jpg

If you want the attachment(s) to appear in the middle of your text (as opposed to always at the bottom), place the cursor at the insertion point and click on Place Inline.

Thanks bureau.jacques for the clear instructions. This is helpful. We must keep aware of all the best weapons in the fight!!

Some feedback
_1) This does not work for me C: \ Windows \ SysWOW64 \ WindowsPowerShell \ v1.0 . But this is not a problem. There are a few ways to get Power Shell, so no problem there.

_2) screenshot EDGE.jpg
I do not see this now. But I think it is possibly just an advertisement. Those things will possibly often be put up to encourage you to download and install Edge. I think I have seen similar occasionally before
Think of it maybe as just the Death Throes of Microsoft Flogging a dead Horse

I am surprised that the file system tree of Windows 10 system is not the same on all installations. It may be related to the language used?…

However it is important to launch PowerShell from its directory to be able to open it as administrator with the right click!
It is always possible to search in the File Explorer: paste in the command box:
powershell.exe[font=]

Have you measured the time to launch Windows on your computer?

It is strange that the Screenshot "Edge" does not appear for all users.
MS-software will always be mysterious!

Thanks for this article which explains why I always have an Edge window that opens at launch:
"Technically, the old Edge will remain installed for compatibility reasons, but Windows will hide it"
I went to see the signature of this Edge version:
Microsoft Edge 44.19041.1.0
So this is the Old HTML Edge!

This might be worth a quick read as well, they are talking about disabling Bing stuff, but mention also that it might as a by product stop that advertisement

I created DisableSearchBoxSuggestions in the Registry Editor and then restarted. However, the Microsoft Edge advertisements remain.

What happens if you download Microsoft Edge and then don't use it? Do the advertisements stop? Does Internet Explorer then become the top hit when searching for "Internet Explorer" in the Start menu?
Regards,

JMT

If you install the new Edge, it will still be the recommended search result when you click Start or press the Windows key and type internet explorer
Best wishes,
