In IE,
Tools/Internet Options/Advanced:
'Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)'
Question: if you uncheck it does that prevent third party toolbars (like the
Google toolbar) from being installed.
What exactly are third party browser extensions?
Should that be turned off?

Allowing 3rd party extensions
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive & well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, red wine in the other, body thoroughly used up. Totally worn out & screaming "Wow, Wee What a ride!

If you clear that check box, the Google toolbar, Yahoo toolbar etc. will not be loaded. So I wouldn't clear that check box, unless one or both of the following apply to you:
- Internet Explorer is having serious problems
and/or
- You are absolutely certain that you want to run Internet Explorer in a "bare bones" mode.
Otherwise, leave that check box turned on.

Best wishes,

That was my conclusion also, but I just wanted to be sure.HansV wrote:If you clear that check box, the Google toolbar, Yahoo toolbar etc. will not be loaded. So I wouldn't clear that check box, unless one or both of the following apply to you:
