I have a lenovo laptop whose function keys are assigned as follows:
f1: mute speakers
f2: volume down
f3: volume up
f4: mute microphone
f5: brightness down
f6: brightness up
Whenever I press any of the function buttons, the corresponding function is executed without my having to press Fn.
Is it possible to program f4 such that when I press alt + f4, the current window closes? Curently, whenever I press alt + f4, my microphone mutes. To close the current window, I need to press fn + alt + f4, which requires too much maneuvering.
Reprogram so that alt + f4 closes window without pressing Fn

Fn+Esc should "lock" the Fn key for the current session.
I found conflicting information on whether it's possible to "lock" Fn in the BIOS setup. It looks like Lenovo removed this capability at some point, then issued an update that restored it for at least some laptops...

Is it possible to lock Fn for the f4 key but not for the other function keys?

No, as far as I know it is all or nothing.
