Good morning.
My motherboard has what I thought was a spare PCI-E slot.
I assumed that a PCI card would go in it ok.
But it doesn't! Is my assumption incorrect or should I try again more carefully?

It would appear that the first short section of contacts is wider than the slot allows.
I didn't really do any Googling till after I discovered the card didn't want to go in the slot. PCI-e slots were not invented last time I had the lid off a PC! I'll have to take it back and swap it.
