Boy Win 10 can cause some headaches. I am averaging 2 - 3 re-starts per day since installing it 2 weeks ago. V frustrating.
Latest frustration, my backup software is warning me that 'Task Scheduler service is not running'. Indeed when I look, TS hasn't run anything in the last 24 hours.
Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Task Scheduler not running tasks
What happens when you start the Task Scheduler service again? Do tasks run?
Otherwise have a look in the System Event Log, to see if there is any information about why it stops...

Re: Task Scheduler not running tasks
I have re-booted several times, which, I assume, should re-start TS. But still get that message from my backup software (Backup4All5).
Can't see TS in Task manager - I assume that it should be visible there.

Re: Task Scheduler not running tasks
Task Scheduler shows as "schedule" on the Services tab of Task Manager, and, yes, it should be running.

Re: Task Scheduler not running tasks
Thanks John, but "Schedule" doesn't appear in Task Manager, yet Task Scheduler is shown as running in Services.

Re: Task Scheduler not running tasks
Task Scheduler should be listed under Windows Processes > Service Host: Local System in the Processes tab of Task Manager. You have to expand Service Host: Local System in order to see it, it is not in the main list.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Task Scheduler not running tasks
Thanks Hans. It was there.
How on earth did you know that? U N B E L I E V A B L E! Thanks again.
So it looks like it is Backup4All that is causing the dialog saying that TS service is not running.
I will report back when they give me a fix.

Re: Task Scheduler not running tasks
Services are usually listed under one of the Service Host:... entries, so I expanded those until I found Task Scheduler.
Best wishes,
Hans
