Morning all
I have come back from holiday and all of my .doc, .xls, .ppt files are showing as plain icons, when I click them I get the file association dialog and for Word and PowerPoint I can select the right icon and they open but it doesn't make it the default, as for the .xls I don't even get an Excel option.
Is there anyway that I can go into some setting and say that all Office documents should be opened by MS Office?
I have tried to Google but most of them are from disgruntled people who receive later versions and they want to view them in 2003 which doesn't apply in this case

Re: Make office the default opening program
Which version of Office are you using, and which version of Windows?
Best wishes,
Hans

Hi Hans
thank you for the quick response, I use Office 2003 and was just about to post that I had sorted it, I had forgotten about the detect and repair which has done the trick
