I have a PPT presentation consisting of 32 slides that transition at 5 seconds each, for a total of 160 seconds (2 min., 40 seconds). I have a song that is 3:40 that I have cut down to 2:40 so that it ends when the PPT presentation ends. However, this leads the song to end abruptly.
I have thus added a 10-second fade under Audio Tools | Playback | Editing group. When I click the sound icon and preview the sound, it sounds good; at 2:30, the fade starts. However, when I play the PPT presentation, it does not fade out. It ends abruptly at 2:40.
What am I doing wrong?

Re: Cannot get audio fade out to work
PowerPoint 2010's fade in/fade out only works for audio that plays during a single slide, not for audio that plays across multiple slides.
You can use the free audio editor Audacity to make the audio file fade out.

Wow....That is NOT cool!
I used to rave about the built in sound/video tools, but this certainly puts a damper on the "rave", even though I personally haven't had issues with it yet.
