Got the latest update on my son's annual Gingerbread Art creation. It's still a work in progress but it's coming along. This year the theme is Santa's Workshop. He tells me that it's so big, he will have to take the door off it's hinges to get it out of the work area. The link is to his Facebook pages ( whatever that is ) where it's a review of past work as well as a couple of clips of the latest rough. Enjoy. When it's done, I'll update this thread.

Re: Christmas Gingerbread work in progress
OK, here is the finished product from son, Rob. Another great piece of work. Lots of work!
Weighing in at over 100lbs of gingerbread, Royal Icing, gum paste, fondant, cast chocolate, and misc. candies.
He usually does a second, different one for the people in the other residence. Had to do some trimming of the pics to get them in here at the Lounge.

Looks fantastic. Must have been a lot of work. A big high five to your son.
BTW, is everything on display edible?

That is indeed excellent Rob. The detail is exquisite!
I tip my hat on your patience and endurance on this project.
I cannot remember from previous years, but does this eventually get consumed or is it ONLY for artistry purposes?
Once again, CONGRATS Rob , and Bob!!!

Re: Christmas Gingerbread work in progress
Technically, it is but after being on display for quite some time, I don't think it would be very tasteful. I believe he just runs a pastry roller over them? I'll have to ask him, or is it: Wait till next year!PaulB wrote:Looks fantastic. Must have been a lot of work. A big high five to your son.
