I don't think this belongs in our Security Forum since it's related to other security factors.
I received an email overnight from the bank that issued my Lane Bryant credit card. I have had that card for a long time, its purpose being to buy clothes occasionally for Billie since she liked their stuff.
The email says that the Lane Bryant email files have been hacked but no personal data except EMAIL has been compromised. They're warning about spam and possible phishing or other scams. If you want to check it, Google EPSILON, the marketing company who were actually the hackee. The other companies hacked include Citibank, Chase, Capital One, American Express, Walgreens, Target, TiVo, TD Ameritrade, and Ritz Carlton and as far away as England and Australia.

(PS: Lane Bryant is in the #58 on the list)

Got a similar message from Marriot who, ironically, I haven't used in years. I recall opting out of their messages - but I guess they kept my address 'for future reference'.

Al,
Where did you see that American Express was on the list?
Did I just miss it?

It was mentioned in the email I received. Here's another link that may help: Potential Phishing Scam -- WARREN, Mich., April 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --viking33 wrote:Al,

It seems like it's too big to list all the "clients" of Epsilon.

I got an email from Target Corporation. I didn't click the link because the Target Dog was missing off the email. And Tazzy was very sad, because she loves the Target Dog.

Re: Epsilon Security Breach
The entities from whom the Bride & I have received warning notice now includes several vendors, both banks we use and one we no longer use, and two of our four retirement fund managers. Seems like 80% of US Fortune 1,000 companies used these incompetents. They are located very close to my employer's home office, maybe next time I visit I should drive over and deliver a nasty letter to them. With a PS that says "And Big Al says **** you, too!"
