I thought about it while I watched it. Physics of course from "Angles of reflection" which brings in Maths.
Once I began hearing the rhythm of the bouncing balls and realized that Michael is tap-dancing that took me into thinking about "muscle memory" which I still think of as just regular brain memory. Hours of practice. But that made me wonder if Michael plays the tune in his head, so that the whole act - dancing, force applied to individual throws, angles etc is somehow driven by an in-brain melody which has as its end result a melody that we, the audience, hear.

So I downloaded the YouTube video and converted the MP4 to an MP3 audio file and this morning played the MP3 in WinAmp.
I was surprised to hear so many audience reactions; my brain had tuned out after the ooohs and ahhhs of his first two throws (where he walks out of the triangle and catches a ball that is following him).

While the rest of Michael's videos (including his 2002 Ted Talk) were downloading on the smart phone I went for my daily news fix.
The ABC offered Study reveals how classical music concerts synchronises audiences' hearts so I quit trying to keep up and have gone back to studying Wirtz pumps.
Cheers, Chris
